Thomas Giddings is a British photographer who lives in New York.
Born in South Africa, Giddings moved extensively throughout his childhood,
leading him to develop a passion for exploring different countries and communities,
which is reflected in both his work and personal projects.
Relocating in his mid-20s from London to New York to work
with Nan Goldin,
Giddings benefited from Goldin’s mentorship, and
began to pursue his own career in photography.
He has shot commercial and editorial photography for publications such as
Document Journal, W Magazine, Interview, T and WSJ Magazine,
and for brands including Calvin Klein, Cos, Burberry and Bottega Veneta.
Giddings’s work has been included in several exhibitions.
Gidding's first photography book,
There’s No Other Place Like This Place Anywhere Near This Place, So This Must Be the Place,
is a visual diary recounting a road trip across America.
Entitled "I Will Make A Way"
leads to a new appreciation of personal encounters across the globe.
In it he captures a range of personalities
and explores the possibilities inherent in collaboration.
