Alexi Lubomirski is a photographer, poet and activist based in New York City.
Born in England, Lubomirski spent his early years between Oxford and Botswana.
At the age of 11, his stepfather John, a major influence throughout his life, gifted him a camera.
This was the start of a passion that later turned into a career.
After graduation, a chance encounter with iconic agent Camilla Lowther, led to a position as a photo assistant with then leading celebrity and fashion photographer Mario Testino.
After 4 years of apprenticeship during which he traveled the world and regularly encountered fashion’s most preeminent figures, Lubomirski got his first editorial break, legendary editor Katie Grand offered him a story in UK Face Magazine, and invited him to collaborate in US Harper’s Bazaar.
Lubomirski became a household name in the spring of 2018 when he was chosen by Kensington Palace to take the official engagement and wedding portraits of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
The images, which were praised for their modernity and grace, generated more than 2 billion views on social media.
No stranger to glamour, Lubomirski is a firm favorite with celebrities, and has shot cover stars such as Julia Roberts, Jennifer Aniston, Charlize Theron, Gwyneth Paltrow, Natalie Portman, Jennifer Lopez, Selma Hayek, Katy Perry, Sarah Jessica Parker, Brad Pitt, Bruce Springsteen, Leonardo di Caprio, Nicole Kidman, Taylor Swift and Arianna Grande, to name but a few.
In 2014, Lubomirski published two books. Firstly, “DECADE”, a photography book highlighting the best of his fashion work from his first ten years as a photographer.
Secondly, “PRINCELY ADVICE for a HAPPY LIFE”, a book written for his two young sons, on the virtues of behaving in a manner befitting a Prince in the 21st Century.
In 2016, Lubomirski came out with his second photo book and exhibition, “DIVERSE BEAUTY”, a body of work that aimed to highlight a broader range of beauty than that which is presented to us in fashion magazines and campaigns.
In 2019 Lubomirski published “Thank You for My Dreams: Bedtime Prayers of Gratitude” a collection of words of thankfulness by his 2 young sons.
And, in 2020 he published his first poetry book, “Talk to me always: Poetry, Prose and Photography”.
That same year, Lubomirski was chosen to be the official photographer for the Golden Globes ceremony, capturing the portraits of the winners as they walked off stage after their acceptance speeches.
All proceeds from his books are donated to the charity Concern Worldwide of which Alexi is worldwide ambassador.
Lubomirski is also a dedicated vegan and animal rights activist, Founder of the Fashion movement, Creatives4Change, a platform to empower creatives to use their influence and social platforms to incite broader social change.
